Kissimmee

Located in the southern part of Orland, Florida in the United States of America, the city of Kissimmee has been best known by millions of television viewers as "Kissimmee-St. Cloud." It is also the tourist destination closest to famed Walt Disney theme parks—since the park opened in the 1970’s.

The city was founded in the mid-19th century as Allendale, which was later on changed to Kissimmee. Previous to Walt Disney’s vision of setting up the famed DisneyWorld theme park, cattle ranching was the more important component to the local economy. Though until today, there are still cattle ranges maintained particularly closer to the southern tip of Osceola Country.

The city of Kissimmee boasts of an unrivaled gorgeous lakeside vista which few Flordian cities can match. A perfect way to cool down during hot and dry summers in the Florida city.

The northwest shore of Lake Tohopekaliga is a known vacation sport for locals and visitors alike attacted to golf and tennis on land, and fishing and other water sports. Lake Tohopekaliga, is a famed tournament fishing area also called by locals by the moniker,"Lake Toho," "West Lake Toho" or simply "West Lake." For the less competitive water sports enthusiasts, there are calm boat tours along the vistas of the Kissimmee lakes.

Downtown Kissimmee’s landscape brings to mind a pioneer town in an urban setting. In fact, with a cool ice cream cone in hand to beat the Floridian tropical heat, visitors are encourged to take a trip down to the Osceola County Courthouse which was been serving the city since the turn of the 19th century, until the present day.
