Orlando
In the grand state of Florida, United States of America, Orlando brings to mind the pristine coastline and gorgeous tropical climate as it hugs the equator.
This laid-back seaside paradise has become a wonderful place for imagination with its many international tourist destinations—world-class resorts, famed theme parks and restaurants. In fact, there are more than 90 theme parks and tourist attractions in Orlando alone.
Nearby International Drive can be found a place where the movies come to life at the Universal Studios Park, Orland. In this wonderland, there are two theme parks, three hotels and a shoppers’ haven.
For lovers of the sea and its creatures there is SeaWorld Orlando. A marine theme park, Sea World currently hosts the Kraken, the largest rollercoaster in the Orlando area. There is also “Believe” a new adventure with Shamu, the friendly killer-whale housed in captivity.
Less than an hour outside Orlando near Lake Buena Vista is the well-known Walt Disney World, that brings to life the make-believe world of Walt Disney’s cartoon characters in four theme parks, two water parks with a myriad of hotels, resorts, themed-residences and even eight golf courses.
The alligator capital of the world, Gatorland, as well as the water park Wet N Wild is also on International Drive nearby.
Downtown Orlando is also a mecca for adventure and fun, with an area around Orange Avenue usually closed to oncoming traffic, serving as the area’s bustling urban center of bars and restaurants, concert venues and theatre complexes.
For those wanting to get away from the tourists, there is nearby Lake Eola, a quiet lake filled with swans, whose fountain is a known icon of Orlando. Across the lake is an outdoor amphitheatre shaped like a shell where guests can enjoy the Nutcracker performed in winter.
